Nick Stoutt holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Architecture from Yale University.  Nick is a former Senior Associate at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects,  where he was a designer for several large-scale mixed-use projects in Asia and the Middle East. Nick’s prior professional experience includes architectural design work at firms in New Haven, St. Louis, and Houston.  Nick was a teaching fellow at both Yale University and Washington University in beginning design and drawing, and has been a guest juror on student design reviews at Yale University and the University of Hartford.

Nick Stoutt’s artistic interests include the interaction of the built and natural environment, using media such as pencil and ink drawing, oil painting, charcoal and pastel sketching and photography.   In his recent drawings, paintings, and photographs, Nick has focused on investigating the hidden beauty and complexity in the overlooked objects of everyday life.  In addition to architecture, drawing and design, Nick maintains many casual interests, such as infrastructure and urban development, arts and film, rock & roll music, southwestern cuisine, commercial aircraft, NBA basketball, and pop culture trivia.  These interests are explored here in his web log.
